LVOS stands for Large-scale Long-term Video Object Segmentation. It is a new benchmark designed to help track and identify objects in videos over longer time periods. Traditional methods mostly focused on short clips of about 5 seconds, which doesn't fully capture real-life situations.
What Makes LVOS Different?
LVOS includes 720 videos that are, on average, about 1.14 minutes long. This is five times longer than videos used in older benchmarks. Each video has many different features and follows complex scenarios, such as objects that appear and disappear over time and similar objects that show up in different moments.
